AEGEE (Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l’Europe) is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organisations. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 170 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.
AEGEE-Leiden is one of the six founding locals of AEGEE and we are very proud of this! AEGEE-Europe was founded on the 16th of April 1985 and AEGEE-Leiden on the 31st of October 1985. AEGEE-Leiden has become quite a large student organization with around 320 members. Not only in Europe, but also in Leiden is a lot to do. We organize more than five trips and hitch-hike competitions a year, multiple parties (most of the time in cooperation with other student organizations), every week different little activities and every Tuesday we have our Social Drink where you can catch up with other AEGEE-members.

Sororities and fraternities at AEGEE-Leiden can be seen as organised groups of friends with a common goal or theme. Members are not obligated to join, but the possibility to join or create a new group is there! AEGEE-Leiden has six sororities/fraternities.
La Vie en Rosé: since 2010, only women. Puck: since 2014, both men and women. Dispar Vulgo: since 2013, only men. C.C. Cielo: since 2015, only women. Modus Vivendi: since 2017, both men and women. T.O.T.O.: since 2019, both men and women. |
