Can you tell us a little bit about yourself – who are you, where do you come from and what are your hobbies?
My name is Osman. I am from Turkey and I living in İzmir. My age 26 and I student in Ege University. My Department is Art History. I'm member of AEGEE-Izmir. I completed one year in AEGEE. My hobbies: I like travelling, reading books (mostly fantastic, science-fiction), meeting the new people, discovering new cultures, riding my bike and watching movies.
Can you sketch your AEGEE-career for us?
I discovered AEGEE in University. I always wanted to go on a trip to another country. For this, I searched a club and I found AEGEE. Immediately I registered, because it offers everything I want: meeting new people, discovering different countries and cultures, cool travels and events, it’s just awesome!
What was your ultimate highlight within your time in AEGEE?
There are two. The first is being involved in the organization of the EPM in Izmir in 2019. It was an activity I enjoyed very much and I had the chance to meet new people there for the first time. The second one is Agora Bucharest. It's a great memory since it was my first Agora ever.
Are there any specific plans or goals (within AEGEE) you strive towards?
I actually want to make progress within AEGEE and be on the board. I really want to take place in one of AEGEE’s working groups too or Interest Groups, especially SEIG (Society and Environment). I think it will give me a lot of things, but I need to improve my English first.
I want to work hard this year and join the board in the next term. I'm going to fundraising meetings for our activities. I am also in the PR working group within AEGEE-Izmir and I am planning on attending more and more European events!
Do you have a message for the members of AEGEE-Leiden?
I would like to wish success to the board of directors this year. I greet you all with respect and love. I love you guys. I hope see you somewhere in Europe.
